Jamaican Food - A Taste of ParadiseAny Jamaican can tell you a story about their favorite food. I remember stories about my favorites, like curried goat, curried chicken, oxtail, rice and peas, jerk pork and chicken, fried dumplings, escovitch fish, festival, ackee, sour sop, patties, and of course a pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee - just to name a few. Jamaican fruit also deserves special mention. For instance, eschovitch fish and festival reminds me of stories about the beach in Portmore - Hellshire. The food is a major part of the heritage of Jamaica. A trip to the island would not be complete without sampling as much of the food as possible.
Your favorite foods in JamaicaIt took me a long time to decide how I would include a page about Jamaican food on this website. Though I knew I had to include information on the island's food I also knew my words could fall short of doing the food justice. One person's description of the food in Jamaica would not be complete. So, my solution is to give everyone the opportunity to share their favorite food from Jamaica. You can chose to do that here.
